Team Science Training workshop

Team Science Training workshop

Over 50 biomedical researchers at different career stages attended the Team Science in Practice workshop I ran at the Academy of Medical Sciences’ career development day in May 2018. Key learnings included the importance of having a collaborative agreement in place, making the time and space for planning collaborations, and tools for establishing trust and resolving conflict. The training format was a mixture of short informational talks followed by targeted discussions and scenario-based activities that drew upon the participant’s own experiences and reflections. Direct feedback from the participants after the workshop included the following remarks:

“Arguably the most useful training I have received since graduation”

“The opportunity for discussion with others and group tasks was the most useful part of the event”

“Clear explanations and really useful discussions which are directly applicable to my research team”
